Non Leather Shoes for Starbucks??

I’m a vegan and I just got a job at Starbucks. The manager recommended I get leather shoes, because I’ll be handling hot drinks, but of course I don’t wear leather.
Does anyone know where I can get something non-leather that’s comparable?
And hopefully cheap?
You can go to Pay-Less or WalMart to find shoes that are cheap.
OSHA just requires that you have shoes that totally cover the foot in a food preparation area.
Most people that I know wear sneakers because the rubber sole helps to keep you from slipping. They have them that look like leather. Lots of them out there that are not leather. Just read the label.

I dont know where to buy it, but pleather is a fake leather.

I imagine that there are serviceable substitutes but no plastic has been invented yet to equal leather for shoes.

how about some of those "steal toe" tennis shoes…like the construction workers wear…i have seen them at walmart before

Crocs are non leather and some have solid tops rather than cut outs on top. They are comfortable for people on their feet all day I see nurses wear them a lot. Hope this Helps.

Go to a store and check the labels. I find that there are a good selection of shoes that are entirely manmade.

Try looking for outdoor walking shoes that are waterproof. Most of them are made out of man-made materials.
The law only requires that your foot is completely covered, but I would really suggest spending $30 more dollars to buy something that is waterproof and not made out of fabric. Spilling hot coffee on your toes is one of the most painful experiences I’ve ever had. I still remember the pain 10 years later.
Sketchers has a whole vegan line that’s made out of NanoLite, and they are reasonably priced.
Asics also has some models that are vegan-friendly.
